The RAF tartan ( Royal Air Force Tartan) was designed by
Flt Lt (Rtd) Arthur Mackie who is the official copyright holder. To produce products using the RAF Tartan requires Arthur’s approval, who can be contacted at +44(0)1307 463 870 or alternatively contact the webmaster . George Thayre  on location not wearing the RAF tartan

George Thayre.   Astrohog builder and prize winning model aviator. Also operates as deputy chairman of the Angus RAFA branch. The hat flap was down to increase concentration before take off. We are already seeing the out of cockpit piloting skills like George’s being used in combat for reconnaissance and missile launches like predator. Your call up papers may be in the post George.

Kay Wallace served with the RAF during WW2Kay Belton nee Wallace a Flight Officer in charge of catering aa_sunderland02t RAF Mount Batten, Plymouth with a Sunderland Flying Boat No 10 Squadron in 1945. Kay enlisted in 1939 at Dyce and was also stationed in St Athens, Northcoates and Leuchars. Born in Broughty Ferry Kay came to Kirriemuir in 1989 where she was a founder member of the Angus RAFA.

Harry Jamieson radar specialist

Harry Jamieson was stationed at RAF Yatesbury undergoing training. He is a member of the Yatesbury Association. As web master of this site I (Brian Redwood ) was stationed at RAF Yatesbury for Radar training. For anyone who has been there it was a never to be forgotten experience.
